It seems to have the same Colt emblems as the 1966 and 1968 version - see the next photo. The car has a dealer emblem from Les McLane in York, Pennsylvania. A site visitor found this photo. We are attempting to contact the owner. Do you know anything about this car?

The special promotional Mustangs featured special gold paint, louvered hood, sport wheel covers, and a special Golden Mustang Limited Edition badge. Russell ordered a Marti report which confirmed that his car is a Golden Mustang and it was ordered by Bemis Motor in Oregon, IL and sold in April of 1968. Stay tuned for more information.

(3 photos of a 1968 Special Gold Mustang Golden Mustang Limited Edition Hardtop Advertisement) Newspaper advertisement we found for the 1968 Golden Mustang Limited Edition which was available at least in the Illinois/Iowa area. It says, The Golden Mustang comes to Ford Country. America's unmistakable, favorite sports car. Specially painted Golden Mustangs for this area only. Special emblem. Special price. First come, first served. Some of the features shown are hood vent louvers, hood-mounted turn-indicators, floor-mounted stick, bucket seats, special gold paint, wheel covers, full carpet, whitewalls, and special emblem. The emblem is shown (probably in gold and black) with a star and the Golden Mustang Limited Edition lettering. We just got confirmation that these cars exist and have a blank paint code indicating a non-standard production special gold paint and that they were order in the Davenport Iowa area. We found this advertisement in the February 15th edition of the Monticello, Iowa, Express newspaper placed by Freese Motors. We also found the exact ad in the February 19th, 1968 edition of the Cedar Rapids Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; another by "Service Motor Sales" on 881 Wells Street, Burlington, Iowa; another at Winebrenner-Dreusicke Ford, 1 East College, Iowa City; one from Harold Triem Ford in Postville, Iowa; and one from Grant Williams Ford Sales 'FORDTOWN' on First ave east at 40th street, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

(4 photos of a 1969 Silver Jade Green Mustang Mustang-E Fastback) Here is a super rare Mustang. It's a Silver Jade 1969 Mustang E' fastback owned by Tim and Barb Wise from Springfield, Illinois. 96 of these were made for the Mobilgas Economy Run, but only 50 were ever sold. Tim tells us more, "My wife and I restored this car in our home garage. Six years in the making. Every nut and bolt came out and was restored or replaced. We did a concours build. Everything is totally correct as it left Ford. All work done in our home garage minus engine and trans rebuilds. Bodywork including paint all done at home."

(1 photo of a 1969 Wimbledon White Mustang Mustang-E Fastback) Mustang E was aimed at the Economy minded customer. This newspaper article was published in the November 17, 1968 edition of the Independent Press Telegram from Long Beach, California. The article takes many quotes from John Naughton, Ford's vice president and general manager. The article is very similar to those published in many other newspapers around the same time. John Naughton is quoted, "The new Mustang ‘E' will meet the limited, but particular, requirements of customers who want sport car appearance and handling combined with outstanding economy. This new Mustang will provide up to 15 per cent greater fuel economy than Mustangs equipped with similar drivetrain components." It states that the economy is mostly due to the 2.33 rear end and larger than stock torque converter.

(3 photos of a 2012 Race Red Mustang Club Of America Convertible) Race Red 2012 Mustang Club of America Edition Mustang convertible owned by Ken B from Michigan. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 10, 2012. Ken tells us, "I just purchased my 2012 Mustang Club of America (MCA) Edition V6 Premium Mustang five days ago and have been thoroughly excited about it the whole time. I have wanted a stick shift convertible for a long, long time and my better half graciously agreed (Thank You!). Being the beginning of the 2013 model year, availability of 2012 models are currently low, and I thought it was an interesting find. There was another customer that wanted the Yellow Blaze version of this car, but none were to be found, so he was going to paint it until he found out how much that would cost, then he backed out of the deal. That left me with what appears to be a low production volume car (2012 Race Red MCA edition convertible) of great value to me. I'm waiting for Ford to release actual 2012 production numbers just to satisfy my own curiosity. As a V6, it doesn't have the power of the V8, nor the price tag or slightly lower mileage, either. (I've been getting around 24+ mpg this week.) But I did want some further uniqueness to the car. I wanted the sound of the V8, but not what to me are downsides that go with it. (Let's just say I'm a little more mature and not going to be as rash in my driving as I was in my twenties, so the extra power could only lead to trouble!) Thus the additional options - the body color hood scoop, and Roush air intake, Roush square-tip exhaust, and Roush style bar with light."

(2 photos of a 2014 Sterling Gray Mustang Club Of America Coupe) This is a Mustang Club of America limited edition 2014 Mustang coupe. It's owned by Kevin Briggs from Little Rock, Arkansas. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting November 2, 2014. It has a V6 engine and a manual transmission. Kevin tells us, "This Mustang Club of America Edition was purchased new, two weeks ago today. It was located in Kentucky and brought to Jacksonville, Arkansas after I agreed to purchase it. I had not actually seen the car, I knew the exterior color and I was aware that it was a V6, 6-speed manual. When I saw it for the first time, I actually had no idea what an MCA Edition Mustang was and was further surprised how it was equipped. I was not expecting leather interior, NAV screen, SAT radio, power seats, driver and passenger, universal garage door opener, heated seats, dual climate control, customized lighting, and the Mustang projected on the ground (from the side mirrors). I believe I will hold on to this one."
